Zweli Radebe shines under the Mentorship of Velocity Afrika directors

Big up to Zweli Radebe, our latest star who was handpicked by Peter Carr and is being mentored by the directors at Velocity Afrika as part of Velocity’s long standing Mentorship programme, passionately driven by Peter. The programme focuses on giving aspirant directors from all walks of life the support, experience and skill so needed to become a director. Zweli has fast proved his mettle and recently shot his first commercial with Unicef and The Mean Lean Fighting Machine, a London based ad agency. We are proud.

KEITH ROSE IS PRESIDENT OF THE CRAFT JURY AT CANNES LIONS.

Velocity is proud to announce that Keith Rose is the President of the Craft Jury at Cannes Lions this year. “Was it done in camera? Was it done in post? Who knows?
Craft and techniques have developed to such an extent that it is impossible to decode unless there’s a “making of” to view. One thing I am certain of… if the technique used doesn’t compliment or enhance the concept, it amounts to nothing. Technique for techniques sake is futile. A weak story glossed over by a fancy execution is still a weak story.” says Keith of his new role of President.

VELOCITY WINS GRAND PRIX AND IS RANKED NUMBER ONE PRODUCTION COMPANY

Velocity’s Keith Rose has won the Grand Prix at the Loerie Awards for Allan Gray “Legend” as well as Gold for direction and cinematography. Velocity has been ranked number one production company in South Africa with a total of thirteen awards, 1 Grand Prix / 3 Golds / 1 Silver / 4 Bronze awards and 4 Craft Certificates spread across six pieces of work and four directors namely Keith, Adrian de sa Garces, Greg Gray, Anton Visser and the Velocity research team. According to Peter Carr, “The continued success of the Allan Gray ads winning two Grand Prix awards in such close succession truly reflect the power of an amazing client. And we want to thank King James for entrusting us with their winning idea”
